Metal Stampings and Metal Spring Clips
|
We perform metal stamping, producing products that are bent, pierced, coined, drawn, and tapped and will meet or exceeds the customer’s expectation. All of these features can be created on either a single punch press or a progressive stamping press. The single punch press is usually used for prototypes or short run production where the need for expensive tool is not cost effective. However, once a progressive tool is made the individual piece price is reduced dramatically usually used in large-quantities productions. Atlantic Precision Spring can produce metal spring clips from miniature metal stampings to large sheet metal stamping. The miniature metal stamping can fit on top of the head of a pencils eraser and the large sheet metal stampings are formed from a strip of material as wide as a standard sheet of paper. Actual dimension are from thicknesses of 0.003" (.076 mm) to 0.125" (3.175 mm), and up to 12.00" (304.8mm).
Atlantic Precision Spring has been producing automotive, medical, aerospace metal stampings for over 50 years. This is accomplished by continuing to exceed the needs that each customer requires. One key way this has been achieved is by increasing the arsenal of power press equipment that will manufacture the metal stampings faster and more accurate. This has given Atlantic Precision Spring an edge in producing precision metal spring clips better than the competition, which has allowed in the constant increase in customers Atlantic Precision Spring is able to work with. These power presses range in size from 25 to 75 tons. The progressive tools that are used to manufacture precision metal stampings are all designed, built, and tested prior to production internally. This allows Atlantic Precision Spring to optimize the process producing the fastest and most accurate tooling. They have the latest in design software and machinery. This includes computer numeric control “cnc” milling and electronic discharge machines “edm” equipment, which combined to produce quality reliable tools. That in turn will produce a precision metal stamping for the customer.
Quality assurance or total quality control is the key focus at Atlantic Precision Spring. From becoming ISO 9001: 2008 certified back in 1998 to adding a networking statistical process control “spc” thought the plant. Improvements have also been done by adding sensors into progressive tools that monitor a part conformance to the tolerance dictated by a customers drawing.
