We produce high volume production flat springs running from an assortment of fourslide machines and power press machines ranging up to 100 tons. These machines manufacture products for many different uses including: electronic connectors, sensor components, circuit board contacts, small leaf springs, and PC board battery contacts. All parts can be Prototyped in our secondary department.
Our ISO 9001:2008 certification assures that the procedures are in place to promote complete customer satisfaction in production of flat springs & metal clips. Quality Assurance is supported by several processes including a networked Statistical Process Control “SPC” that is used to assure the quality. Specific quality control processes include:
- Electronic sensors that detect defects in formed parts during the production run.
- Vision System inline machine sensors inspect formed metal clips to identify defects and prevent out-of-tolerance metal clips.
Our flat springs can be fabricated out of a wide variety of metals in all grades and thicknesses, ranging from .076 mm to 3.175 mm, and up to 304.8 mm. Available metals include:

Our spring design program, along with Engineering Assistance, can select the optimal material, thickness, and temper for your application before creating a prototype. A rapid turnaround time is the norm for Atlantic Precision Spring, on all productions from the quote process through prototyping and the volume production runs. We draw upon our years of experience in design and development services for a variety of related components, ranging from micro-miniature flat springs to large intricate metal clips.
Our well maintained fourslide machines are able to keep precision metal clips to tolerance requirements due to a vigorous maintenance schedule for our machines and fourslide tools. All fourslide tooling, progressive diesets and short run tooling are designed with 3D software and built using in-house CNC and wire EDM machines by our own tool and die journeymen. The features of fourslide machines often prove to be more economical in the production of parts. Fourslide Tooling are faster to build to produce metal clips, which leads to substantially reducing tooling costs. Some complex custom products require forming operations that cannot be completed on a power press without expensive tooling or secondary operations.
